Information for parents

GeoPlay is a free geography game. Here is what it is, what data it uses and how children can play it safely.

What is GeoPlay?

GeoPlay is a daily geography quiz: five questions a day about places around the world, answered by placing a pin on a 3D globe. There are also extra games about countries, capitals, flags and history. It helps children learn where places are, in a playful way.

Does GeoPlay have ads, purchases or chat?

No. GeoPlay shows no ads, has nothing to buy and has no chat or private messages between players. Every game is free.

Can my child play without an account?

Yes. Every game can be played without an account and without giving any personal data. Accounts are only for people aged 13 and over, and everyone confirms their age when they sign up.

What do other players see?

Players with an account appear on the leaderboards with the display name and country flag they chose, and their scores. Email addresses are never shown. Players who join a group see the other members of that group by display name. Players without an account do not appear anywhere.

How long does it take?

The daily quiz is five questions and usually takes a few minutes. A new quiz comes out once a day, at midnight local time.

What data does GeoPlay collect?

Without an account, GeoPlay stores the answers and scores of a guest player in your browser and on its server; guest players who have not played for 30 days are deleted automatically. The full details, including analytics and cookies, are in the privacy policy.

My child under 13 created an account. What can I do?

Email contact@geoplay.pro with the email address or display name used, and the account will be deleted.

Can GeoPlay be used at school?

Yes. Teachers can use the daily quiz as a short warm-up and the extra games for practice. The page for teachers explains how it works in a classroom.
