About Capital Quiz
Capital Quiz is a free daily quiz on the capital cities of the world. There are ten questions a day, and they come in two kinds that take turns: you are given a capital and pick its country, or you are given a country and pick its capital. Each question has four answers to choose from.
The quiz gets harder as it goes. It starts with big, well-known countries and ends with small states and tricky capitals that many people mix up. The wrong answers are chosen from the same part of the world, so you can’t rule them out just by continent.
The questions are the same for everyone each day, and a fresh set arrives at midnight. Your score out of ten is easy to share.
What you’ll learn
- The capitals of all 193 countries, including the hard ones
- Cities that are famous but are not capitals, like Sydney, Istanbul and Toronto
- Countries that moved or built their capital, such as Brazil, Nigeria and Kazakhstan
- Where countries sit next to their neighbours
