Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about playing GeoPlay. If your question is not here, email contact@geoplay.pro.
What is GeoPlay?
GeoPlay is a free daily geography quiz played on a 3D globe. Every day there are five questions, the same for everyone, and you answer each one by placing a pin where you think the place is.
How do I answer a question?
Tap the globe to drop your pin, then tap the pin again to lock in your answer. Tapping somewhere else first moves the pin. Drag to spin the globe and pinch or scroll to zoom.
How is my score worked out?
Each question is worth up to 100 points, based on how many kilometres your pin is from the answer. Within 50 km you get the full 100. Later questions count more (×1, ×1, ×2, ×3, ×3), so a perfect day is 1,000 points.
When does a new quiz come out?
A new quiz unlocks every day at midnight in your own time zone.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play the daily quiz and all the extra games without one. A free account puts you on the leaderboards, keeps your score, streak and stats across devices, and lets you join groups, challenge friends, play practice rounds and replay past days. Accounts are for people aged 13 and over.
Why am I not on the leaderboard?
Only players with an account appear on the leaderboards. If you played as a guest and then create an account in the same browser, that game moves to your account and counts.
How does a streak work?
Your streak counts the days in a row you played that day’s quiz. Miss a day and it goes back to zero. Replaying a past day does not change your streak.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Create a private group and share its link to get your own daily leaderboard, or send a friend a challenge link and play the same rounds head to head.
Can I see the answers to past quizzes?
Yes. The quiz archive lists recent days with every answer and the story behind each place. A day appears there once that date has ended everywhere in the world, so nobody gets spoiled.
What other games are there?
There are free extra games that need no account, including the Map Quiz, the Capital Quiz, Guess the Flag, Guess the Country, Guess the US State, Higher or Lower, Timeline, Border Hop, Country Grid, Country Connections and Emoji Country. You can find them all under More games.
Does GeoPlay work on my phone?
Yes. GeoPlay runs in the web browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install.
I think an answer is wrong. What should I do?
Email contact@geoplay.pro with the quiz number or date and the question. If you have a source, include it.
How do I delete my account?
Email contact@geoplay.pro from the address on your account and it will be deleted together with its games and group memberships.
