About Country Grid

Country Grid is a free daily geography puzzle in a three-by-three grid. Every row and every column has a clue, such as a continent, an official language, a currency or a population size. Fill each square with a country that fits both its row clue and its column clue.

Each country can be used only once. You have three lives: a wrong answer costs one, and losing all three ends the game. Many squares have more than one right answer, so there are plenty of ways to complete the grid.

Everyone gets the same grid each day, and a new grid arrives at midnight.

What you’ll learn

  • Official languages: where English, French, Spanish and Arabic are spoken
  • Which countries use the dollar, the euro or the franc
  • Landlocked countries, island nations and countries with many neighbours
  • The biggest, smallest and most populous countries on each continent

Why play Country Grid every day?

Country Grid rewards wide knowledge, not just one topic: you need languages, currencies, maps and numbers all at once. It also makes you think of countries you rarely remember, which is the best way to learn them.

A grid takes a few minutes, it is free, and you don’t need an account.
